JMS and Warner Bros. have taken the opportunity of THE LOST TALES launch to honor the memories of Andreas Katsulas and Richard Biggs. There are memorial reminiscences included on the DVD, in addition to the special comic mentioned below.
In that spirit, I wanted to let everyone know about, or remind them of, the very moving tributes to both of them produced by Z-Team Productions at the times they passed beyond the rim.

TLT, Lift-off
The San Diego Comic Con, held over last weekend, served as the launchpad for THE LOST TALES. There was a Lost Tales panel Friday, with JMS, Bruce Boxleitner, Tracy Scoggins, Peter Woodward, producers Samm Barnes and Doug Netter in attendance. JMS had a solo panel on Saturday, covering the many projects the Great Maker has cooking. There were B5 signing sessions throughout the weekend, with even Doug Netter, who usually prefers staying behind the scenes, sitting in on the Lost Tales signing! Claudia Christian and Pat Tallman were also at the Con. For the B5-centric, there is a full report on the proceedings at the Comic Con thread, over at the JMSnews forums. Great work by Jan (moderator and queen of the B5 script collectors), Jon (SmileOfTheShadow) and Joe Nazzaro, who moderated the Lost Tales panel. Additional reports can be found at Beyond The Rim and The Futon Critic.
Best Buy is including a big bonus with the Lost Tales DVD, a small comic memorializing Andrea Katsulas and Richard Biggs. It was given out at Comic Con and is only available in limited quantities. If you haven’t pre-ordered (or if your pre-order was delayed), dash right out and get your copy, while they last. Sales will determine whether we get more Lost Tales. JMS and Doug Netter again made that clear this weekend.
Meanwhile, interviews have been appearing in the leadup to the launch. As Tim mentioned, SciFi Weekly interviewed Bruce, Tracy, and Peter. SyFyPortal talked to Bruce, and both Dreamwatch and TV Zone talked with Tracy.
That’s all, folks! (for now.)
Happy launch day, everyone!
Today is the day the long-awaited return to the Babylon 5 Universe is released. To whet your appetite, SciFi Weekly has quickie interviews with Bruce Boxleitner, Tracy Scoggins, and Peter Woodward.

Page Two does contain a plot spoiler, as it continues the montage of the New York composite shot shown previously. Wait until you’ve seen it, then go back to see how it was all put together.

Welcome to Show #74!
Jeffrey is zipping along the highway again, while Tim C and Tim A drool over the four nominations that the Babylon Podcast received for the 2007 Parsec Awards. While Tim C has put out the call for fan suggestions for segments to submit for judging consideration, the deadline for us to submit those segments was Monday, July 23rd, so while you’re welcome to submit suggestions for your favorite segments to include for submission, we can’t use them anymore for this year.
Jeffrey announces that the Babylon Podcast has been invited to attend an in-store signing in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of “The Lost Tales” DVD, and to also include some of the pomp and circumstance as part of an upcoming show.
Special Report: We finally have a “Lost Tales” DVD sighting!!
Deep Geeking: This week, Tim the First One and Tim the Younger dive into DeepGeeking™ for the episode “A Day in the Strife”.
First, the station is threatened with destruction by an alien probe unless they can submit a detailed and complicated series of technological, scientific and mathematic problems. If they answer everything correctly, they are told they’ll receive an untold bounty of advanced technology, and if they answer even one question incorrectly, they’ll be destroyed.
Second, G’Kar is coerced into relinquishing his position and sanctuary on Babylon 5, but the Narns on the station convince him that his best choice is to stay put and continue doing what he’s been doing with the resistance.
In an around all this is a labor dispute that Sheridan’s having trouble resolving. All in a day’s work.

Summer would also like to find the long versions of the B5 promos that ran on TNT prior to Season 5, the ones narrated by Keith David… anyone have any old VHS copies of S5 they taped from TNT?

The Lost Tales reviews:
Updated (7/31/07)
If you haven’t been visiting SFF Audio, then you’ve been missing all of the latest news and reviews in SF audio, be they audio books or podcasts. It’s definitely a must-see site for me.
Jesse Willis has informed us of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s choice to not air the radio drama “The Adventures of Apocalypse Al” on Radio One.
Why would this matter to Babylon 5 and Babylon Podcast fans? Because this audio drama written by JMS, and after all that work, the CBC has decided not to air the program at all.
So SFF Audio has started a campaign to Free the Adventures of Apocalypse Al, we we all need your help, your voices add to the call to have this story released.
If you have a blog or show of your own that ever talks about JMS and B5, or “Jeremiah”, or Midnght Nation or Rising Stars, or anything he’s done, send out a notice telling them to read the post at SFF Audio and help out any way they can.
Thirty-eight years ago today, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the Moon, the first humans to stand upon an alien world. It’s one of those moments that you can recall where you were and what you were doing. I was six years old. My family (Mom, Dad, and a sister) were traveling cross country to visit relatives in Phoenix. We were staying in a Howard Johnson Motel that night, though I don’t remember what town. I was transfixed by the grainy, ghostly images on the TV set.
If you were fortunate enough to be alive during the lunar landing program, you know how electric that moment was. If you were born after the Apollo program shut down, well, there’s nothing I can think of that comes anywhere near the magic of the moment – when the eyes of an entire planet gazed upward in wonder, and the future seemed deep and wide.
